Discover the charm of Nisswa
Downtown Nisswa is arguably one of the most coveted areas to travel to in Minnesota. Known for its town charm, it is also alongside the 115-mile Paul Bunyan Trail and…..has some “pretty good shopping.” There are many boutiques, bike rentals and parks, sports courts, nearby lakes with public access! There really is something for everyone!
Here are a few top picks to check out next time you’re in downtown Nisswa:
Big Axe Brewing Company- What I love about Big Axe (besides the beer) is the outdoor eating/drinking space. Plenty of space for people and their pets! Yes pets! Many K-9’s frequent Big Axe as well! Seems we all like to people watch!
Rafterty’s Pizza- After a day of shopping, what could be better than pizza? Especially one as good as Rafferty’s! Eat there or take several back to one of our three vacation rentals (shameless plug!) for a relaxing evening!
The Chocolate Ox- We couldn’t go anywhere near Nisswa without stopping at The Chocolate Ox to load up on all the sweet treats for the week or weekend. It was a crime to just drive by. A crime! The kids are older now but don’t think I don’t still stop for an oowey gooey bite of turtle delight goodness every now and then!
Stonehouse Coffee and Roastery- Black Pearl. It’s a complete sentence. That is how good this coffee is. In fact, it is so good, we buy it for all our guests. Not just a wee little sample size. Its too good to tease like that. While you are there, and yes, I would go there, I would get their scones. I would get all their scones. All of them. They are tasty like cake (not dry and crumbly) with a generous amount of fruit or chocolate or whatever the flavors you choose are! My mouth is watering as I type this and I am literally licking my lips!
WineDown- Full disclosure…I have not been here yet but it is on my list to try this spring! I looked on the menu and peeked at the gallery of pictures and I can’t wait!
Main Street Ale House- I have been here many times and have always found the food to be delicious and the atmosphere to be perfect as well! They too have outdoor seating which I can’t get enough of during those summer months!
Ye Ole Pickle Factory- I have yet to actually eat here. I’ve tried to but each time I’ve attempted, it’s been so busy I could barely walk through! I have no idea what the fascination is yet, but I hope to find out soon! I figure with a following like that, I better make sure it’s on my list!
Downtown Nisswa brings charm, activities, adventures, relaxation, shopping, and occasional events too so make sure to visit the chamber of commerce to find out all the town happenings! Thank you for your interest in reading and feel free to share!
